(Intermediate) Partner Acro with focus on inversions and handstands
Service Description
Pre-Reqs: Basic familiarity with an inversion, such as headstand or elbowstand, OR an arm balance, such as ‘Crow/crane’ from a Yoga class. Being able to do a full handstand currently is NOT required; that is what we will seek to progress to. If someone already has a handstand there will still be plenty of progressions and learning points available. *anyone coming from a pole or aerial background definitely has the foundation as they invert themselves just in different ways. Description: Use partner postures and assisted stretches to gain a better universal understanding of anything upside down. No partner is needed but always welcome. Class will start with wrist exercises and hand warmups, move on to partner postures and 2 person ways to setup and spot, and end with solo exercises using the wall and/or moving on the floor for conditioning. The focus of the acro postures will essentially be replications of Headstand, Elbowstand, and Handstand so that they directly correlate to one’s own functional practice. Partner inversions are remarkably easy to set up and build greater confidence for the solo act! What to Bring: Water bottle, Mat &/or towel, sticky grip or grip sprays, optional to bring as well if one thinks hands being slippery is an issue
